2020 NBA Draft Winners And Losers
The NBA draft has come and gone and here are our grades for the best and worst drafts.
Who got great value and who failed to make enough to justify the use of draft capital?
Let's take a closer look.
Golden State Warriors
James Wiseman reminds me of the love child of Dwight Howard and Anthony Davis. He flashes high level shot blocking, paint protection and rim running ability. If he can become a more polished offensive player he can easily become a star.
San Antonio Spurs:
In a draft with no slam dunk star talent ( Even the players we think can become stars and superstars have their question marks). The Spurs landed Devin Vassell a two way wing we feel can likely be an excellent 3 and D starter.
New York Knicks
The Knicks talked to multiple teams worried that their primary target wouldn't last until the 8th pick. In the end they got their man. Obi Toppin a dynamic bouncy big man with the tools to be an elite scorer. In the late 1st they drafted on our favorite three and D prospects. Immanuel Quickley.
Pacers, Pistons, Nuggets
Lamelo Ball is a terrible shooter and defender who has serious holes in his game to even be a quality NBA starter. The Hornets picked based on position of need but did they take the best prospect? I hope for the fans sake we are wrong.
Udoka Azubuike is a project big man who is a poor foul shooter with a limited offensive game and questions about his ability to defend. Not sold he's even a NBA caliber bench big.
The Nets only had a late 2nd round pick and they have plenty of young talent so a late 2nd round flyer is understandable.
