The Knicks have not won in a while. They honestly haven't been a title contender in over 20 years.
Numerous coaches and GM's and President's have passed but once you pass this graveyard of failed good intentions you see glimmers of hope.
RJ Barrett has all the tools to be a superstar and is only 19. Mitchell Robinson could easily be a star.
The Knicks have 5 1st round picks in the next 3 drafts and several other intriguing young pieces.
The front office are tired of losing, they don't want to mortgage the future but a trade for a established star is a real consideration. However this star needs to be under 30 and Barrett and Robinson are likely untouchable.
Victor Oladipo and CJ McCollum are a couple players on Knicks radar. They are monitoring the Damian Lillard and Giannis situations but there are concerns the price would be too steep .
The draft will likely be about drafting a wing or PG they feel complements their young talent. The Knicks love Anthony Edwards but it's not likely he will be there at the 8th pick. This is assuming they keep the pick, it will also be shopped as a trade chip. OBI Toppin is another name to watch on draft day. Knicks love his fit with Robinson in the front court.
We have been told the Knicks will work the phones about adding an established PG to aid in Ntlikina's development and move into competing sooner. McCollum is one name they like as a point guard option. Russell Westbook is another trade target should he become available.
Point guard is a real area of concern as well as a wing to complement Barrett or possibly even help aid his development. The New York Knicks want to build another dynasty and are determined to get there sooner rather than later.
