Back in August I posted a article looking at 2017 NBA Draft sleepers with Star Potential.
You can read it here: https://jas786.wixsite.com/wibbetsnba/single-post/2017/08/08/5-Overlooked-Potential-Stars-From-The-2017-NBA-DRAFT Let's take a closer look at these players and their progress. Justin Jackson He had an up and down rookie season that was mixed at best but it's not uncommon for rookie's to struggle at times. The potential may still be there. Caleb Swanigan Was never really given an opportunity to play consistent minutes, hopefully Portland gives him a longer leash next season. Malik Monk Charlotte failed to give him much opportunity as well. Harry Giles As a precautionary measure he was shut down in January and missed his rookie season. Donovan Mitchell I was both wrong and right about Mitchell I thought he would be a Kemba Walker type star PG Mitchell ended up looking more like a young Dwayne Wade as he slid seamlessly into Utah's starting lineup. I saw the star potential but because of his lack of height I made the same mistake as many NBA talent evaluator's. I saw a scoring PG that needed to improve his playmaking. However because of Mitchell's 6'10" Wingspan he was able to become a two way monster at the 2 and carry his team into the 2nd round of the playoff's. In review I was mostly right on 1 and still am waiting to see if the other 4 could reach their ceiling's. The Recommended Content Widget will appear here on the published site.
