Jimmy Butler is a top 20 player, four time all star and one of the best two way players in the game.
The problem is he is also a bit of a diva, and no longer remembers his humble past, or is he just so driven that he clashes with less motivated teammates?
Here is the latest on his trade request from the Minnesota Timberwolves :
The Houston Rockets are the current front runners with a package centered around Eric Gordon and their 2019 1st.
The Miami Heat are not willing to part with Josh Richardson and have mostly negotiated on a package of either Goran Dragic or Tyler Johnson and Justise Winslow, a swap of Hassan Whiteside and Gorgui Dieng has also been discussed.
The Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers have had also been in talks and are monitoring the situation.
The Sacramento Kings according to our sources have been involved in talks as a third team facilitator. The Kings would be willing to absorb a bad contract preferably for a 1st round pick.
The Miami Heat made an aggressive push to finalize a deal with was said to have made it to the red zone but final details were not agreed to.
The Houston Rockets made the most aggressive push recently getting basic framework in place and pushing to finalize a deal. Making it as close as the 1 yard line or 5 yard line according to sources. Negotiations have since come to a halt.
As of today Jimmy Butler is still a member of the Timberwolves but Houston and Miami continue to wait for either the acceptance of an offer or renewed negotiations.
The Timberwolves can try to be patient and wait for offers to improve but the question remains how much longer do they want this distraction to hang over their season?
MarvIf you read most media outlets you will notice plenty of love for the Phoenix Suns young talent and the youngsters on the Lakers. You won't hear the same said about the Sacramento Kings. For the last decade only three things have been likely, death, taxes and the Kings making poor basketball decisions. Beginning in 2016 that started to change the Kings began to stockpile assets and at the trade deadline moved on from their All Star big man Demarcus Cousins and accepted a rebuild.
The youngsters the Kings have drafted or acquired in the last 4 drafts include:
Willie Cauley Stein
Cauley Stein has had bouts of inconsistent play but is a NBA caliber big man.
Some of the reasons many undervalue him:
He is 5th in his draft class in total win shares.
He was 54th in the league last season in estimated wins added or EWA.
Among qualified centers he was 4th in steals and 6th in assists.
The Serbian guard proved quickly to be a solid pro. Bogdanovic was acquired in a draft day trade with the Phoenix Suns that also netted the Kings Georgios Papigannis and Skal Labissiere as well as Det 2020 2nd round pick.
Bogdanovic ranks 140th in EWA ahead of Kyle Kuzma and Robert Covington.
The centerpiece of the Demarcus Cousins trade Hield has proven to be an elite 3 point shooter and intriguing young talent.
Hield is 79th in EWA ahead of Myles Turner and Draymond Green.
Hield also ranked 9th in 3 point percentage.
The 10th pick was part of the DMC trade, the Kings also had the 5th selection as well.
De'Aaron Fox was selected 5th and had an uneven rookie season.
The Kings traded down from the 10th pick for 15th and 20th selections.
Harry Giles was taken with the 20th selection. Giles was the number 1 player in his highschool recruiting class and many compared him to Kevin Garnett.
Despite his superstar level talent Giles fell on draft day because of two different knee injuries.
was drafted by the Kings 2nd overall. The Ringer actually called Marvin Bagley the player they would have taken number 1 overall.
Recapping the Kings have added what looks like three young starters as well as 4 more young pieces who were drafted too recently to know what they will become. Fox, Bagley and Giles all possess star level or higher talent and Hield could still develop to an all star level.
Nothing is guaranteed and Giles health will be a big factor but the Kings could be a team on the rise sooner than most anticipate.
If you haven't yet picked up the NBA 2K, 2K19 all is not lost this article applies to all versions of the game including previous releases.
If you have ever spent time building a roster in the GM mode you probably wondered how to build a winner long term. Here are some tips on how to do just that.
1. Any player 32 or older should be flipped for draft assets.
2. Expiring contracts should be traded for draft picks
3. If your team is not already a contender stockpile as many draft picks as possible.
1st round is preferred but 2nds also have value
4. When rebuilding invest heavily in your scouting and training staffs, train your players on high to maximize development.
Hopefully this helps you build a long term winner the next time you play NBA2K19.
Now that the 2018 NBA draft is in our rear view mirror we are going to revisit the 2015,16 and 17 NBA Draft's and make our picks for a revised top 10.
Without further ado here are our most recent redraft's.
Redraft of The Nba Draft
2017 top 10
1. Jayson Tatum
2. Donovan Mitchell
3. Lauri Marraken
4. DeAaron Fox
5. Dennis Smith Jr
6. John Collins
7. Markelle Fultz
8. Kyle Kuzma
10. Harry Giles
The top 3 aren't a big surprise as all look like young stars on the rise.
Fox, Smith and Collins all boast big time potential. Kuzma looks like a solid pro at the minimum and Harry Giles has superstar talent but will his knees hold out?
2016 NBA Draft
redraft top 10
1. Ben Simmons
2. Brandon Ingram
3. Jaylen Brown
4. Buddy Hield
5. Kris Dunn
6. Jamal Murray
7. Taureen Prince
8. Damantas Sabonis
9. Caris Levert
10. Ante Zizic
Simmons looks the part of a young star, Brown, Hield and Ingram all have at least all star potential. Dunn is probably a long term NBA starter after that this draft goes off a cliff. Several names could be argued as rotation caliber but a fairly shallow draft overall.
2015 NBA draft
top 10 redraft
1. Karl Anthony Towns
2. Myles Turner
3. Kristaps Porzingis
4. Willie Cauley Stein
5. De'Angelo Russell
6. Josh Richardson
7. Rondae Hollis Jefferson
8. Devin Booker
9. Bobby Portis
10. Larry Nance Jr
Towns is a young star on the rise. Myles Turner is one of the best performers from this draft based on Win shares, Cauley Stein ranks 5th in overall win shares. Russell has flashed high level potential, Richardson and Hollis Jefferson are solid pros. Devin Booker is the wildcard of this draft one of the best scorers in the league but a terrible defender the question become will he become passable enough defender for his offensive skills to matter?
